Lunchtime Webinars
Overview
The Lunchtime Webinar series is a successful digital initiative with the goal of raising awareness on key topics related to EU law. Since its creation in 2020, this project has become a key opportunity for justice practitioners from across the EU to share experiences and best practices in various subjects and fields. These bite-sized webinars are structured in the ‘1 hour, 1 expert, 1 topic’ format, and they take place twice per month. Topics cover multiple areas of law, including administrative, civil and criminal law, human rights and fundamental freedoms, linguistics, judicial training methods as well as timely topics related to the digital transformation of justice. A leading practitioner or expert delivers the session, followed by a Q&A with the participants.
Achievements in 2024
In 2024, EJTN organised 22 Lunchtime Webinars, with a total attendance of over 3,000 participants. Compared with the year 2023, the participation rate increased by 86.5%. The topics covered in 2024 included crucial themes related to the future of justice, such as recognising online manipulation, using the Artificial Intelligence as part of judicial decision-making, using ChatGPT in judicial training and legal language in ethics. In November, a session focused on the benefits and risks of Artificial Intelligence gathered over 200 participants online, setting an all-time record for active participation since the launch of the series.
